Math

	Mountain Point Elementary will be using the Houghton-Mifflin Math Expressions program in grades K-5.  This program focuses on helping students gain skill by solving problems, explaining their thinking, listening to their peers, and improving their thinking through this consistent classroom dialogue and discussion.
Sixth grade will be using Illustrative Math for their math program. Illustrative Mathematics Math is a problem-based core mathematics curriculum for grade 6 that develops students’ mathematical thinking skills through questioning, discussion, and real-world contexts and connections.
	As part of our digital learning component, Mountain Point will be using STMath in grades K-4 and ALEKS in grades 5-6.  Students will be assessed and provided with targeted instruction at their level.  Students who master grade-level skills will be able to access above-grade-level skills with this program.
